Well, my high from yesterday has been severely diminished. John McCain, while on the surface a likable, admirable guy, has just been in Washington for far too long to take seriously. Do I think that he's serious about doing what is best for the country? Absolutely. But does it make sense to give amnesty to a bunch of people while at the same time going after terrorists in other countries? It's like trying to put the horses back in the barn while the back door is wide open.
My basic oppositions to illegal immigration aside, the terrorists are here, and 9/11 proved that...or does anyone believe that those guys were the only 19 (20 if you count Zawahiri) here? I know that they were on overstayed visas for the most part, but still...more and more OTMs (Other than Mexicans) are being found coming over from Mexico. It is our biggest weakness, and everyone knows it.
It's difficult to forgive McCain for his arrogant and angry stance on that.
McStain is just a means to an end, and the end game is Palin/Jindal, 2008.
